This course has been developed by Luis Fernandes, Director do CFAE-PVVC in close collaboration with the School Education Gateway:

The general aim of this Short Online Course is to provide a sound understanding of the role of School Leadership in promoting School Innovation.

  • By establishing a common understanding on what school leadership is, we will identify the essential characteristics that school leaders should have in a fast-paced and ever-changing world.
  • We will then explore how school leaders can promote innovation that can be contextualised in teams and therefore foster shared leadership practices and encourage an innovative mindset.
  • The course will also provide you practical support in terms of identifying the structure of an innovation plan, along with other data gathering tools that will assist you in your role.

Each of the four modules consists of multimedia resources and discussion around these, practical tasks using a range of digital tools, forums, and discussion activities, as well as a further reading section with extra resources.
